Angle submit exciting proposal for 80 new residential homes in Shepperton
Angle Property (“Angle”) has submitted an outline application for up to 80 new homes at its 11 acre site, Bugle Nurseries, in Shepperton. The residential scheme will provide 50% affordable housing alongside 6 acres of public open space, which is all within walking distance of Upper Halliford train station and Shepperton town centre.
Bugle Nurseries is located in the Greenbelt and is partly previously developed brownfield land. The site island has been allocated for residential development in the emerging Spelthorne local plan which is due for examination by the Planning Inspectorate later this month. A similar application was refused and dismissed at appeal in 2023, but with the change in government, recently adopted NPPF and renewed local plan progress, Angle believe the timing is now appropriate to resubmit the application.
James Good, director of Angle Property said:
“The Shepperton site has been a challenging planning journey however since Labour won the election last year, there has been a much more positive approach to progressing the local plan by Spelthorne Borough Council, which has been stalled for nearly 2 years. We now think it is the right time to submit the 80 unit scheme again to deliver urgently needed housing and affordable housing on this sustainable and deliverable site.
Montagu Evans advised Angle Property on planning.
