Angle secures planning and sale to Aldi in Olney, Buckinghamshire

Angle Property is pleased to announce further success at it’s Olney Park development. Angle Property has together with Aldi Stores secured full planning consent for a new Foodstore of 1,865 m2 / 20,075 sq ft with 105 car parking spaces. Following receipt of the planning consent and Angle undertaking site enabling works Aldi Stores completed on the 1.5-acre site purchase in December 2023.

Olney Park is mixed-use 11-acre development on the northern side of Olney, which is an affluent and attractive north Buckinghamshire town. The Aldi Store will add another dimension to the Park’s offer which already includes a Kingsley Care Home and commercial occupiers including Case Security and Ground Construction. Angle has now submitted a planning application for a Starbucks Drive-Thru which now leaves only a 1-acre plot available on the Park.

Angle exchanged a subject to planning contract with Aldi Stores in February 2022 following which Angle and Aldi worked together to deliver the planning consent and fully serviced site.

Tony Williamson, director of Angle Property said:

“We are very pleased to have secured this planning consent jointly with Aldi, which was well supported by the local community in Olney. The site on Olney Park was allocated for commercial uses and so expanding this to include a Foodstore has been very popular and is also a strong positive for the Park. Angle completing the enabling works and site sale to Aldi has allowed them to get on site quickly with the store targeted for opening in late summer 2024.”

Stimpson Eves are retained agents for Angle Property. BCLP advised Angle Property and Freeths advised Aldi.
